Will I Be Enough with Maureen Hoff - Episode #115

When are we enough? When our child’s health improves? When the doctor offers us a high five? When we accomplish everything on our to-do list without crying? Being a medical mom isn’t like a regular job, it requires so much that is unseen and unacknowledged and carries with it this looming expectation of martyrdom that is very easy to internalize.

On today’s episode we hear from Maureen Hoff whose daughter was born with bilateral clubfoot. In her story, she shares about her uncertainty entering the world of medical motherhood, not knowing if she would have what it takes and discovering in the process, how important community, telling her story and holding onto her own identity would be.

Maureen is the author of Clubfoot Chronicles: Tips for Helping your Clubfoot Cutie During Treatment and the creator and host of the podcast, A Clubfoot Mom. Maureen considers her a clubfoot advocate and works to provide the parent perspective and encourage parents to advocate for their children. She is also the leader of the first ever diagnosis specific support group through WABT with the group Moms of Clubfoot Cuties Support Group.
